MQ-9 REAPER INITIAL QUALIFICATION TRAINING COURSE
Training is offered at KBFS in partnership with Unmanned Aerial Research, LLC
Phase 0: 3 weeks – Basic aircrew training for new aircrew. Aerodynamics, aircraft systems, basic navigation concepts, airspace, and weather.
Phase 1: 1 Week – Crew Resource Management (CRM) training
Phase 2: 3 Weeks – Basic ISR Tactics, Techniques and Procedures (TTP). Prerequisite for all students that have not yet attended an S³ / KBFS ISR training course.
Phase 3: 3 Weeks – Class I/II Tactical UAS Operations. Academics specific to smaller UAS, and flight ops in the Osprey Mk III. Offramp for students not progressing to MQ-9 platform. OPTIONAL – live flight training in Cessna Caravan ISR training aircraft.
Phase 4: 8 Weeks – MQ-9 Systems and simulated employment. Use of MQ-9 Role Player consoles to simulate basic through advanced MQ-9 operations.
Phase 5: 8 Weeks – OPTIONAL, on-site training use of partner-nation equipment in advanced scenario training.
